NASCAR checks the body temperature of fans during a flying car race

According to "Sports Business Magazine", NASCAR recently conducted a fan survey and raised the possibility of introducing flying car exhibition activities.

One of the questions in the survey was: "Which types of vehicles should participate in the exhibition?" Answer choices include flying cars, pickup trucks, crossovers, cars/coupes, and SUVs. SBJ reports that the NASCAR investigation described the flight card as "similar to a drone, but large enough to hold one person."

Ben Kennedy, senior vice president of strategy and innovation at NASCAR, recently told SBJ that the alliance has begun to develop a simulation timeline for 2031 to outline its innovation goals for the next ten years. The survey was conducted through the NASCAR Fan Committee, a 25,000-member group established in 2008 to help the organization get feedback from fans on topics such as advertising and rule changes.

NASCAR president Steve Phelps previously mentioned the possibility of launching an electric racing series. The NASCAR fan survey is released when Australia-based Airspeeder plans to launch an electric flying racing series in 2022, while Extreme E continues its off-road electric car series that debuted in early 2021.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment and the audience app 15 Seconds of Fame have expanded their partnership to continue to use the image recognition system at the First Capital Arena during the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals home games.

Fans of the First Capital Stadium can upload selfies to the 15SOF mobile app to receive facial video clips captured by broadcast television cameras or video boards in the stadium. Monumental initially partnered with 15SOF in 2017. The company currently has deals with multiple teams in the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL, and the league-level deals with the NBA and MLB were extended in October.

MSE Chief Marketing Officer Hunter Lochmann said in a statement: "Fans are more eager than ever to uniquely demonstrate their team pride and share important memories on social media. We believe 15SOF is the ideal platform for this."

15 Seconds of Fame is expected to start broadcasting the event by "connecting people's seat tickets and their sports with our artificial intelligence" in 2022, co-founder Adam Resnick told SportTechie in October. For example, the idea is to have the app immediately send the game stream or highlights to the mobile phones of the fans in the stadium when leaving the seating area to go to a concession booth or bathroom.

McLaren Racing has partnered with DataRobot, the artificial intelligence cloud provider for its Formula One racing team. DataRobot's artificial intelligence insights will provide predictions and analysis of race simulations to help McLaren drivers train for the race.

At the Qatar Grand Prix last weekend, McLaren began adding the DataRobot brand to its cars and the track suits of drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. McLaren also has a team at IndyCar and will make its debut in the Extreme E team next year.

DataRobot's global AI evangelist is Ari Kaplan, a pioneer in baseball data, and his role in the game includes establishing the analysis department of the Chicago Cubs.

DataRobot is already working with Andretti Autosport and driver Robert Megennis at IndyCar.

Tennibot, an independent tennis collector, received investment from Benson Capital Partners, a venture capital firm founded by the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson (Gayle Benson). Tennibot uses sensors and AI cameras to retrieve tennis balls on the court. The financing terms of its oversubscription have not been disclosed.

The company claims that its current $850 robot can save coaches and players 25% of their time collecting scattered balls on the tennis court. With the new capital, Tennibot plans to accelerate the pace of production and develop new features.

Other investors in this round of financing include venture capital firms Techstars, Untapped Capital and Underdog Labs. In 2020, Tennibot, headquartered in Alabama, is one of 10 startups selected for Techstars' sports technology accelerator in Indianapolis.

Benson Capital raised more than $50 million last year to launch its first fund, which is dedicated to supporting start-ups in the southern Gulf region.

"We are very happy to work with the Tennibot team to help take the company to a new level," said Caroline Crumley, director of Benson Capital Partners, in a statement. "This investment aligns us with the impressive management team that has established state-of-the-art robotics in the southern part of the Gulf."

Nike teamed up with online gaming platform Roblox to launch Nikeland, a virtual world inspired by the reality headquarters of the clothing giant in Oregon.

The virtual campus includes Nike buildings, basketball courts, courts and arenas for Roblox users to participate in games such as tagging, dodgeball and "The Floor is Lava". A digital showroom can also allow users to put on Nike equipment-from assorted sports shoes to new products.

Nike's metaverse will also encourage sports in real life. Users with accelerometers in their phones can jump or run, allowing their game characters to replicate their movements. In-game activities will also receive material rewards for users to create their own mini-games in Nikeland.

According to CNBC reports, Nikeland plans to increase games around global sporting events, such as a potential football event during the World Cup or a national flag football game during the Super Bowl.

The virtual world was initially free, but Nike could eventually integrate paid products. Roblox's user-generated game platform provides in-game purchases through Robux, which is a virtual currency supported by credit card and gift card transactions.
